Biography

Miriam Halahmy has published two poetry collections and a novel.  Her poems have been included in anthologies, including The Dybbuk of Delight and In the Company of Poets.  She has reviewed books for a variety of publications including the TLS and the Jewish Quarterly and has published short stories and articles. Miriam is also a visual artist and her paintings, some of which are displayed on this page, have been included in group exhibitions in Barnet.   Miriam was Chair of Lapidus, 2003-2005, a national literary organisation for writing in personal development.  She is Poetry Editor of the Lapidus Quarterly and she has contributed to various publications in the field of writing for personal development.  Miriam is involved in writing projects in the community, including the homeless and ex-offenders.  She is a Literature  Assessor for the Arts Council and the Convenor of North London SCWBI, a critique group for Children's Writers.   Miriam is a member of The Society of Authors and a member of The Highgate Poetry Society. She has two children's publications due out in 2006 and has produced education materials for the Refugee Council.
